Sara Gemini Piperni is Associate Professor at the Department of Histology, UFRJ Institute of Biomedical Sciences, focusing her research on nanostructured materials for tissue repair and theranostics against cancer. She employs alternative methods to the use of animals (in vitro 3D models of cell culture and microfluidics devices) for applications in personalized medicine.
